Steps to Achieve ASME Certification


  1. The Manufacturer (Applicant) initiates contact with the ASME Accreditation Department/National Board (NB) to request "Application Forms" or apply online via "CA Connect."
  2. Execution of an Inspection Service Agreement between the AIA ( Citadel Engineering Company ) and the Manufacturer.
  3. Completion of the "Application Forms" specifying the type/scope of certification, stamps applied for, and the chosen AIA (Citadel Engineering Company).
  4. Submission of the completed "Application Forms" to the ASME Accreditation Department/National Board via air courier/email or "CA Connect."
  5. Procurement of ASME Code Books directly from ASME/NB as per the certification type.
  6. Confirmation from ASME to the contracted AIA regarding the signed Inspection Service Agreement.
  7. Establish a time schedule for the joint review by the AIA and the manufacturer.
  8. Coordinate the joint review date with ASME.
  9. Preparation for the Joint Review, including:
    • Quality Manual preparation
    • Demonstration component creation
    • Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), and Welding personnel preparation
    • Design calculation and drawing preparation
    • Work procedure documentation
    • NDE procedures demonstration to the AI
    • NDE personnel qualification
    • Material procurement
    • Traveler preparation
    • Manufacturers Data Report (MDR) preparation
  10. Implementation of the quality program by the Manufacturer.
  11. Pre-Joint Review to confirm quality program implementation.
  12. A joint Review will be conducted with AIA ( Citadel Engineering Company ) and ASME.
  13. Issuance of the certificate(s) and ASME Certification Mark to the Manufacturer by ASME.
  14. Application to the National Board for the "Certificate of Authorization for Registration" and NB-Stamp.
  15. Receipt of the "Certificate of Authorization for Registration" and NB stamp.
